Adam Chester is a powerhouse pianist, vocalist, and entertainer whose musical life began at age four and never slowed down. After graduating from USC’s Thornton School of Music, he jumped into the industry to work alongside R&B legend Barry White.

Adam Chester is a powerhouse pianist, vocalist, and entertainer whose musical life began at age four and never slowed down. After graduating from USC’s Thornton School of Music, he jumped into the industry to work alongside R&B legend Barry White.
His defining role arrived over twenty years ago when he became Sir Elton John’s official band stand-in. Affectionately known as the Surrogate Elton, or SUR Elton, Adam steps in for Elton at rehearsals and select live events, shining in moments like Elton’s historic final U.S. Dodger Stadium concert in 2022, The Main Stage at the Glastonbury Festival in 2023, and the 2024 Gershwin Prize ceremony. He also arranges and conducts choral performances for Elton’s productions.
His career has placed him alongside icons including Joni Mitchell, Brandi Carlile, Garth Brooks, Miley Cyrus, and Paul Anka—and he’s even a holiday favorite at Kate Hudson’s annual Christmas celebration.
In 2020, Adam and his wife, Maria, launched Quaranchella, a global livestream series that lifted spirits during lockdown and raised over $20,000 for charity, drawing national attention on CBS This Morning with Gayle King.
Known for his versatility, Adam brings to life music from The Beatles to Earth, Wind & Fire to Prince—performances packed with energy, nostalgia, and top-tier musicianship. He performs regularly at the Georgian Hotel and Sunset Marquis lounges in Los Angeles and is available for private events, concerts, and special performances nationwide.
